SpotMe Solutions
SpotMe Solutions is a startup aiming to solve SJSU's frustrating parking situation. We provide users with real-time parking information. This is done by using sensors in designated garages to count traffic flow and stream live data from the app.
I played many roles in this startup. I started as a simple web developer to help build the company's marketing/landing page. I then transitioned into front-end development building out the app's splash, signin, and registration screens. On the back-end, I helped build the signin and registration logic including user sessions and authentication.
The team decided on using React Native to save time and resources in order to work on both iOS and Android. My background in React helped tremendously in working with React Native to create UI elements.

Challenges
The biggest challenge is that everyone was their own one man team. As a new and small startup, we couldn't rely on others for help because we were all working on different areas of the app. The most challenging part was putting the entire app together and getting it to work without crashing, which eventually happened.
Being part of SpotMe Solutions has taught me the the invaluable skill of team communication and coordination.
What's next?
I plan to package the application into docker containers in order to boost productivity, cut back on time and frustration, and allow team members (especially new incoming ones) to run the project anywhere seamlessly.
